Artworks available at the gallery

The inner city’s architecture, iconic buildings and district views have inspired Robyn’s ʻbuilding blocks’ series. Robyn has lived in Balmain and Rozelle for 20 years and loves the little views and unique houses discovered while walking her dog.

Her passion for sketching and architecture has merged to form these sculptural pieces. Each work is an individually hand coloured sketch, using pen, ink and watercolour. The sketches are bonded to recycled timber, sanded and layered with a gloss varnish. The timber has its own history, usually coming from houses built in the area in the 1890ʼs that are being renovated. Purchase the works to stand in a group, or individually and they can also be wall mounted.

“I have loved creating art from the area and turning old wood that was being thrown out in to something collectable!”

Robyn first started exhibiting her art in 2003 with "your house or street!" She took time out from her career in fashion and textile design to have a family and has never looked back. The creative path she has followed is far more rewarding and she gets to balance ʻworkʼ and a family. Robyn freelances as a colour consultant and has helped many clients recolour their homes and get the most out of where they live. She also paints commissioned blocks. Robyn works from emailed pictures of client’s homes to turn them into a piece of art that is affordable and a keepsake. Perfect as a gift for yourself or a friend! “Being an artist is so rewarding and fulfils my creative needs. I have been able to respond to the financial uncertainty and carbon tax issues by painting miniature pieces, plus I am recycling timber that is precious and took years to grow. It’s a good feeling!”
